    4/11 Cul de Sahuarita

The Raptors took on Sahuarita in great showing:

    In attendance:

Steven and Mary Bade, Katrina and Earl Shelby + 3 Shelby boys, Jamie, Camille, Nicole, Christi, Tia and Jasper Begay, Lisa.

This week was the first week of photos. Unfortunately, my camera died immediately after taking Steven photo.

I'll get you next time Raptors (evil laugh).
This was the first week of increase from 3 miles to 4.5 miles (according to Garmin).
The Shiprock group (Tia, Jasper and Lisa) helped on the course to make sure we didn't lose anyone like we did before:

    This week on LOST:

Chicka gets lost in Sahaurita.Chicka was the only Halfer this
week. After telling her to turn around at the water stop or at the halfway
point, she was sure not to get lost. BUT...MacKnitty failed to take her chalk
with her AND Chicka turned the wrong way!

When we returned and found No Chicka we panicked and sent Earl out on a rescue mission.MacKnitty called Chicka several times out on the course but she never answered. MacKnitty being the new mom, of course thought the worst and pictured Chicka tied up in the back of a van with masked kidnappers yelling at her while hauling her off to Mexico.

So MacKnitty and Dolce hopped into our BatMobile (shiny silver Camry- loving called Need for Speed) to rescue Chicka. No luck.

Finally a phone call from the hostage, cryptic, "Don't know where I'm at...bathroom...wrong way...phone dying." What could this mean?

When Chicka finally returned, we rejoiced!! Yay!! Her phone had died on her and she missed the water stop and arrow to turn. Instead she took the scenic route around the neighborhoods of Sahuarita. After consulting the map we determined that she may have walked a total of 6 miles! Go Chicka!

The group finished strong even with two boys who didn't really want to go the distance.
The run was followed by a quick meeting and some good eats thanks to The Shelbys. Earl lamented about his CUTE medal and Katrina flaunted her bling-bling to all (you will be mine, oh yes, you will be mine).
T-shirts order should be processed this week so hopefully the Shiprock raptors get it in time for our halfer.
Happy Easter! I hope that you found many Raptor Eggs!
