Hello Raptors! 56 days into the trip (almost 1/3 done), and everything is going well. I've been training a lot, and feeling great! I'm running 21-25 miles a week based on a training plan I got from runnersworld.com, and am confident that I will be able to do 13.2 in 2 hours come January 17th. I've also lost about 10 pounds and still counting. I ran the Canada's Army Run (Course d'Armée du Canada) 5k today and finished in 26:22. I was hoping for under 25:00, but I'm happy with my time, especially since the Garmin said it was actually 5.11k, and I spent the first several hundred meters stuck in the pack at a 10+ minute pace. On top of that, it was the first time I've run on the road since July 12th. I'm not hating treadmill training as much as I thought I would, which is good because I think I'm going to be stuck with it for a while. Even after it cools off, the dust will still probably be choking, and running inside is probably saving me from an even worse case of brown lung. The next event is the Army 10 Miler on October 4th. My goal time for that is 1:30:00. Stay tuned!
See you all in January -- Steve
